Celebration Empowers Senior Citizens and Program Volunteers

Detroit, MI— Ecclesia Community Development Corporation (ECDC) Senior Program seeks to empower local senior citizens and honor program volunteers during its two- year anniversary celebration on Friday, June 1, 2012 at Greater Ecclesia Temple.

The theme of the event, “Seniors on the Move: Living an Abundant Life,” celebrates the accomplishments of the budding Senior Program located in the Cody-Rouge area. It is the goal of the ECDC Senior Program to improve the overall health and vitality of senior citizens living in the residential area surrounding Greater Ecclesia Temple. The program offers a weekly platform including fun and recreational outings, arts and crafts and educates senior citizens on current events and local programs through quality on-site events.

The occasion will begin at 6pm supplied by a generous assortment of appetizers, dinner and features keynote and motivational speaker, Michelle Jeter of Motivation Matters. Jeter also serves as a volunteer for Hospice of Michigan as a Community Liaison and as a volunteer Life Coach at Vista Maria. Entertainment will be provided by local music group, Gospel Soul Singers.

Greater Ecclesia Temple is located at 9611 Iris Street. Ecclesia’s cross streets are Schaefer Road between Plymouth Road and West Chicago Road.
